More points for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Clausework

I'm aiming for B Corp certification after my first year of operation and am sharing my progress through the B Impact Assessment to keep myself accountable. I need to score a total of 80 points to be certified. In my last post, I shared scoring 18.95 on my charitable giving structure.

Today, I'm happy to report that I'll likely score another 18.9 points in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) section. Here's the breakdown:

1. 4.2 points for being a woman owner

2. 4.2 points for being an owner from an underrepresented racial (Japanese) or ethnic minority

3. 1.05 points for tracking the diversity of ownership among my suppliers

4. 1.05 points for having a policy to give preference to suppliers with ownership from underrepresented populations

5. 8.4 points for making more than 50% of my purchases from companies that are majority-owned by women or individuals from underrepresented populations (branding, web design, web copy, and business cards and stationery were all from woman-owned businesses).

37.85 points down, another 42.15 to go!
