Table showing some living wage rates across Canada

Each month, I offer five free employment contract reviews for individuals who’ve been offered a job paying less than a living wage. No documentation required. No questions about how you got here. Just accessible legal help when you need it most.

This pro bono service is part of my commitment to equity and transparency in the workplace—because no one should have to navigate confusing legal terms or risky clauses just to earn a living.

Who is this for?

This service is for any worker offered less than a living wage, regardless of job type or industry. Whether you're being hired as an employee or independent contractor, you deserve to understand what you’re signing.

What’s included in a contract review?

When I review your contract, I focus on helping you:

  • Understand your rights before you sign

  • Spot red flags, like illegal clauses or missing entitlements

  • Strengthen your position to negotiate, even if you’re not sure you have leverage

  • Make informed decisions with confidence

You'll receive plain-language legal insight, not jargon—so you walk away knowing exactly what you’re agreeing to and what options you have.

What kinds of documents can I send?

This review can cover a range of documents, including:

  • Offer letters

  • Full-length employment contracts

  • Fixed-term or temporary contracts

  • Independent contractor agreements

  • Probation terms, termination clauses, and more

How to access this service

There are currently five spots remaining for the month of May. Please contact me to get started. I'd love to work with you!

Why I do this

Employment contracts shape people’s lives. They dictate not just pay, but job security, working conditions, and access to legal remedies when things go wrong. And yet most people sign them without legal advice—especially those paid the least.

This offering is a small step toward correcting that.

If you have questions, feel free to get in touch. I’m always happy to chat.
